Sportsplex

This position entails standard lifeguarding duties at Brandon’s Community Sportsplex pool. Instructor/Guards:

• provide instruction in many programs;
• are responsible for the general maintenance, care, and conditions of the pool area;
• work a variety of shifts during days, evenings, and weekends which may include split shifts.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not hold current mandatory qualifications, you may still apply. You must be enrolled in the necessary courses/re-certifications. If hired, you will be required to attain all mandatory qualifications within a specified time. Preference will be given to applicants with all mandatory certifications and one or more of the preferred qualifications.

Association Overview: The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is a charitable organization whose mission is to foster the growth and development of people and communities in spirit, mind and body. The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg consists of 4 health, fitness and recreation facilities, Camp Stephens our resident camp, 3 preschool childcare centres and 28 school age centres with a total annual operating budget of $18+ million. Position Overview: This is a part-time position with variable shifts throughout the day and weekends.  As part of the aquatic team, this position will report directly to the Aquatic Program Coordinator and will be responsible for the delivery of swim lessons and providing a safe aquatic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Providing safe and enjoyable swim lesson
• Being prepared for lessons through appropriate planning
• Maintaining candidate records and evaluations
• Attending in-service training as required
• Ensuring qualifications are up to date
• Maintaining a clean and hazard-free pool area
• Fostering a good public image for the facility and the association in general
• Other duties as assigned

Two Hills Swimming Pool

Manager is responsible for the organization and daily operations of the facility, must be able to develop programs and instruct. Must work some shift work and be experienced and knowledgeable in pool operations and building maintenance. Must be a team leader and able to schedule and evaluate senior and junior staff. Be computer literate and able to do administrative tasks. Applicants must have excellent communication and public relation skills.

Sr. Lifeguard Must be a good team player and responsible for implementing programs and instruct all levels of Red Cross and Lifesaving Society programs. Experience and knowledge in pool operations and building maintenance. Applicants must have excellent communication and public relation skills.
