The Lifesaving Society, Manitoba Branch values the dedication of all individuals who instruct Lifesaving programs and/or guard in an aquatic environment throughout the province. The Branch has developed awards to recognize these individuals.

Lifeguard of the Year

• Is there someone you work with or know who goes above and beyond the call of duty?
• Do they always strive to be the best?
• These people show excellent public relations and education skills. They finely hone their first aid and water rescue skills.
• Who is eligible?
  • Certified lifeguards in the province of Manitoba.

Instructor of the Year

• Do you know a Lifesaving Instructor who pulls out all stops when delivering programs to their students?
• Do they take a genuine interest in making sure students are learning the skills?
• We want the Instructor who keeps their students motivated, teaches highly realistic programming and in short, produces the best lifesaving or lifeguarding candidates possible.
• Who is eligible?
  • Any person who instructs Lifesaving Society courses. (i.e. LS, NLS, AEC, IT, BOAT)

Whether you are a candidate currently enrolled in Lifesaving Society programs, a candidate’s parent or a member of the public who uses aquatic facilities, take a closer look at your instructor or the lifeguard on duty.

• Does this person stand out above the rest?
• Do you feel they are exceptional at their job?

Then nominate them for Lifeguard or Instructor of the Year!

Things to include in the nomination:

• YOUR (nominator’s) name and contact number/e-mail
• Nominee's name and contact number
• Reasons you are nominating them. Please provide detailed information. Remember the information you provide is what the selection committee will base their decision on.

Nominations can be sent to the office or submitted on the website. All nominations must be received no later than February 1st to be considered for that year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Both awards will be presented at the AGM in March.

All the information must be completed when submitting a nomination. The selection for these two awards will be made by the Lifesaving Society office and presented at the AGM.
